Hey guys, I picked up a bottle of the AAP Zymol and it said to apply it in straight lines? I went against that and used the standard circular motion...what`s the purpose for straightline applications?

The idea is that if you`re gonna mar/scratch the paint, then the straight scratches won`t be as noticeable as circular ones because of the more limited angle of view. I don`t worry about it; I worry about marring the paint at all ;)
Consider that a PC is *random orbital* and it doesn`t cause problems. Nobody says "you shouldn`t use a PC because it doesn`t go in straight lines" ;)
