Just finished up the Camaro .. belongs to a lady that drives a tandem dump truck .. they are doing some work up close to here and saw me take a few cars back .. asked if I`d do hers ..

Normal procedure

1) wash

2) Clay

3) Dacp where needed for the odd scratch

4) #80 on a white pad

5) SG

Beautiful `67! You aren`t kidding about the wet paint!

How does going from #80 to SG affect the durability (if at all)? Obviously, it looks really good.

A beautiful Camaro, excellent detailing on it! SG gave the paint a very wet look and great reflections. Sharp!

So what is #80 exactly. I keep seeing that so many people are using it.

Ya know .. I`ve been going against the grain a bit with the Klasse and seem to have no issues with durability ..

Reading the bottle of SG it says if the surface is oxidized use the AIO first but if the surface is new and not oxidized SG can be applied without AIO ..

Well when you polish the hell out of it .. there will be no oxidization there .. and what is concidered new ?? By the time you get your car the paint isn`t new any more .. waiting 30 days after a repaint makes the paint not new any more ..

The Jag I maintain I did alternating panels polished with #80, with and without AIO before the SG .. April till now and I am seeing no visual difference.. same look .. same beading ..

Anyway .. are we sure this *AIO durability* thing is is real or a figment of someones imagination .. No where on either bottle does it say the durability "will" be compromized if AIO isn`t used and I have yet to see or find an official Klasse (not a distributors) document stating this.

Matter of fact I can`t even seem to find the refered to *Users Guide * :xyxthumbs

And why aren`t my e-mail notifications working?

Dee-I have noticed the same thing with Acrylic Jett (Carlacks equivalent to SG but with nano-technology) that it doesn`t specifically say you must use Prime (their AIO equivalent), just that the surface be clean and properly prepped. Used it today over Optimum then DP`s Final Finishing Polish. Didn`t glide on like it does over AIO or Prime but wiped off with ease and seemed just as slick.
