Upon removing the tonneau cover from my pick-up , I notice that the frame of the cover has rubbed holes through the paint on the back of the cab right below the window.

All the way to bare metal.About 1" wide x 2" long. One on each side.

To do a normal touch-up with a brush would just be too sloppy , I think.

Anyone have any ideas or insights on the possibility of air brushing ?

Any other suggestions ?

The paint is white , by the way.

TIA

Your right 1" wide x 2" long is not something meant for a touch-up brush if you want it too look close to factory (IMHO).

You could try getting some factory touch-up paint in a rattle can (I think paintscratch.com sells it that way) or stop by your local Auto Body paint shop.

If you make it that far you will need to sand each scratch down so it "feathers" with the surrounding paint.

Clean the prime the bare metal, cover the car/truck and mask off the areas your going to paint and lay down a few light coats.

I`m leaving some steps out here this is just a rough guide.

I have done rapairs like that to a few bikes and ski-doo`s. I used an airbrush ( as thats what I used to do) with the matched Dupont BC/CC and the guy who owned it couldnt tell the diference between old and new other than the shiny new clear vs. old nast beat up clear on teh other side of the bike.

Thanks , Joe.

It`s nice to know I have that option.
