I recently cleaned, polished and waxed my 2003 BMW 325Ci. After sitting outside in Boston for eight months with only infrequent visits to the touchless car wash (I was in school, and had no time to wash it), as well as a few incidents with the dealer washing it against my wishes, it was in fairly lousy shape. Claying alone took me practically an entire day, there was so much tar and other crap embedded in the paint.
I used the Zaino Z-18 claybar, a PC 7424 with a 6" Lake Country white pad and 3M Perfect-It III Machine Polish, and Zaino Z-2 Pro. It has four coats of Z-2 Pro on it, interspersed with Z-6 (the first two) or Z-18 (the last two). Some of the swirls are still there, but I`m happy with how it came out. I was planning to go over it in two stages with the PC, but doing it once took long enough...
This is the first time I`ve done a serious detail on my car, so I`m wondering what you think of the results.
