View Full Version : My Red Altima SE-R - First Wax!

This is my second wash, but the first time I apply wax on my SE-R :spot . I bought FK`s Pink Wax and they were kind enough to throw in a freebie -- a spray detailer so I used that this time instead of my usual Meg`s.

I washed the car with Meg`s Gold Class car wash by hand, and applied wax by hand too. I only did one coat -- am I a n00b? Should I have done more than one coat?

Also, I am quite ashamed of the pics -- I`m a good photographer, but I was in a hurry and this wasn`t my SLR taking these pictures... I`m posting my worse (3) pics last, at least so you guys can see the wheels, but since I wasn`t holding the camera solidly, it blurred :-(

How is it for a first try? I`ve been thinking of buying a PC.. it was fun by hand, but I had to go over quite a few spots I sorta messed up... PCs are fun, right? :waxing:

260hp stock, "only" 10hp over the top of the line 3.5SE, but it comes with a killer look, the red you are seeing is exclusive to the SE-R, and a few fine differences in the exterior (front and rear bumper, rear spoiler, muffler tips, rims, smoked rear lens covers, etc)

http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55905 has 2 more pictures of my car a few months ago when I just got it -- those are full frame, not close-ups like above.

Doesn`t it also get a 6 speed? or do the 3.5SE`s get those too?

Nice car! what the 0-60 on it?

Yes, there`s a 6-speed manual option. I went 5-speed manumatic option: it`s my daily driver, and we`ve come a long way since the crappy autos... i can do just about anything; i can keep it in high revs while i find an opening and floor it, i can downshift from fourth to second (if the speed is right), etc. Manumatic + flooring = ..... the 0-60 ranges from 5.9 (manual, excellent launch) to something around 6.2 (yes, people on my nissan boards are showing that the "manual is half a second faster" isnt very true anymore).. it`s fast. The 1/4 is mid 14`s, quick, but it can be improved. The tires help a ton, too -- Potenza S-03`s, so sticky its almost annoying :-)

I personally have added an intake, and may do a little bit of changes to its exhaust, but as they sell it, its very sweet.
