I finally had time to try out my cyclo

:) :drool: It makes the PC feel like a toy in comparison.



What I did:

Wash with Duragloss wash

clayed (claymagic blue bar)

rinsed

dried (I don`t do conventional claying with QD anymore) with sonus waffle weave



Polished with Mezerna Intensive Polish and Cyclo green polishing pad



Polished with Mezerna Final Polish II and Top of the Line White pad



Used Top of the Line yellow pad and Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish for some minor scratches that the IP couldn`t remove. I wanted to try this combo so I did the rear bumper, since that`s nearly impossible to ruin anymore than the previous owner did.



Sealed with Mothers FX Synwax with TOL blue finishing pads



Tires/trim have Mothers Protectant on them.

I also wiped down my dash and front windows. I need to vaccum out the floor but that`ll be another day.

I`ll eventually do a write up on the cyclo, but I haven`t used it enough to comment. Initial impressions though:

Well built

Easy to handle

Well balanced

Doesn`t vibrate your arms off like the PC

Powerful

Top of the line Pads and Cyclo pads are similar on the "likeness" factor.

Pads are easier to clean and cheaper

QUICKER!



I also really liked FX Synwax. Easy to use and clear. The Mother`s Protectant is very good too. I`m really impressed, it gives the tires a really nice look without being too shiney. A benefit is that it can be used on interior plastics with very good results as well.

I know exactly what you mean, and can`t agree with you more. My PC is pretty much used for paint cleaning, glazes, and lsp applications only. :buffing:

Everything came to $280 and some change. The only engine shot I have is about a year and some months old. Haven`t gotten around to that yet, other than washing the underside of my hood.

Great machine, innit it :). It`s such a great piece, really feels like it comes from the day when American engineering was unquestionably the world`s best. My PC get used for carpet shampooing, and sometimes I let my mom refinish furniture with it :). Other then that, its pretty much rotary for compounding/polishing, and cyclo for hologram removal and LSP application.

Yep, definitely. My original experience was flawed by trash pads not working with me. Now that I have some pads that actually do what they are supposed to, I`m good to go! :xyxthumbs

No but the yellow pads were. I wasn`t hugely impressed by the packaging of my pads when I got it. Eh oh well. :)

If I hadn`t been having so many problems with my car lately (seized a/c compressor, bad plug wires, bad O2 sensor, leaking coolant resevior, bad tensioner pulley and CV joint and I need new front tires), I`d already have a Cyclo. :(



Great machine but right now I still need to fix my a/c and get new front tires. Business has been great though so hopefully it won`t be too much longer.

I`m another happy Cyclo user :2thumbs: . Like Accumulator said, you will like it more and more as you get better acquainted with it. You don`t see tools built like the Cyclo anymore.

JJ- When you need a rotary, the Cyclo won`t substitute- I want to be clear about that. But that doesn`t mean I wouldn`t recommend that you buy a Cyclo. I`d get it from WCD or TOD, but here`s a LINK (http://www.cyclotoolmakers.com/) to tell you something about it.
