95 Mx3 vs SingleStage Paint.

I did this one on Saturday of last weekend. Its a 1995 Mazda MX-3, with single stage black paint. The thing was and still is in pretty rought shape. I wasn`t about to get very aggresive with the single stage paint, since I don`t have a paint depth gauge, and it was looking pretty thin already.



Anyways, the exterior was a pretty quick, and in the +35oC and 100% humidity, I was tired as hell once I was done. Nearly passed out a couple times when working on the small roof area. Went to the emergency room after the customer picked it up, I seriously though I was seeing things. Turned out it was major de-hydration, and sun stroke.



Well my processses were:

SSR 2.5 to get rid of the majority of swirls. x2 on a cuttin pad.

SSR 2 to get rid of the haze, and it brought back some colour.

Topped with NXT.

Tires were left alone since they looked brand new already.

No clay done, as the customer just wanted it to look a little better.

Here is a wicked plastic before and after. It made a huge difference after I sat there for almost 20 minutes polishing that single area.

Hehe!! 35% humidity is like a nice cool breeze down here in Memphis. Right now it is 97 degrees with 47% humidity. Looks like the same for this weekend....I have four details!!! :hairpull :D Oh well.....



I will tell you one thing that helps me deal with the heat, try hydrating yourself BEFORE the detail. When you wake up start drinking tons of water or gatorade. Then continue to drink water throughout the detail. Last summer I was getting headaches after details and figured out that I wasn`t drinking enough fluids. I was basically giving myself a hangover!! :D No problems since I began hydrating pre-detail.

Nono, thats 35 oC...not humidity. It was 35oC with 100% humidity, so the forcast said it felt like +43oC. :nervous2:

I was originally going to charge $90, but ended up $85 because I felt bad I could get a scratch out that I said I would be able to. But other than that, the car came out pretty good. :wavey :cool:

I drank 7 liters of water that day, and didn`t go to the washroom for that reason even once. So I was sweatin. :work:

I like to look at the pictures before I read the products that were used, and everytime I`m tricked into believing NXT is something more exotic, expecially on black.
