Is SSR 2 too aggressive to use by hand on a new black car (WRX) with swirls & light scratches from the dealer? I don`t know if I should go with the SSR 1 or 2 before polishing & waxing/sealing.

Any help?

Thanks!

I just tried SSR 1 & 2 (as well as the polish) this past weekend having bought the stuff for the first time. My car`s paint is kept in pretty good condition but did have light scratches from dust vs. car cover. I started with the SSR2 using a porter cable DA polisher and found that even the 2 was not as abrasive as I thought it would be. It got rid of many of the scratches and i was very pleased with the product. I was in the same boat as you, concerned it maybe too abrasive.

I would say to test the #2 on a small part of a fender first, I really don`t think you`ll have much to worry about if you start with #2.

I don`t think you could generate enough heat by hand to create problems with any SSR polish.
