I hope this is the right forum.

I posted pics in another thread in the University where I was asking for tips on the best shine for the detail, but figured I`d bring it here too so others could check it out.

I had a photo shoot with 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine this past weekend and wanted to make sure my car showed RED. The "Vibrant Red" or "Vermillion" paint (whichever you choose to call it) sometimes shows up orange in extreme sun, and that`s something I definitely didn`t want showing up. Thanks to the guys here I was able to keep it to a deep, wet red!

So anyway, here are a couple pics from the event, taken by me. (The magazine should be out around December)

Sweet...I love the chrome-filled engine bay!

Did you do any polishing/claying before the #7/#26?

Absolutely.

My process was wash (of course), clay, 3M SMR on cutting pad, then #7 on the DA and #26 paste on the DA. It`s the first time I tried paste on a DA, but I really liked it.

And thanks! :)

Nope, no burnout or action pics. That would`ve been fun though!

hirosh, thanks. I LOVE the Azure Machs! I have a 1/18" AutoArt model sitting in my display case.

Tell me about the wait :( The editor originally wanted to do this back in October, but I asked to hold off so I could do more work. That work was the big brake/new wheel upgrade, rear bumper & tail pipes, rebuilt engine with new parts (of course!) and smoothing out the engine bay and painting it.

So we decided to do it in PA at the Nationals race/show this June, and EVERY DAY until then, about 8 months, it was right at the front of my mind. Ouch! If I was able to put up with that then what`s another 6 - LOL. At least the pics have been taken and they have all the info on it now. That`s a big load off my mind :)

Thanks stromer and vdog!

No numbers on the refreshed motor. I brought it down to be dynoed but with the addition of the heads, roller rockers and boost pipe, I blew out my MAF and ran my injectors dry before 4K. We changed the tune so at 4K more fuel gets fed, just to keep me safe on the streets when I feel like romping it.

Before the heads and pipe (worth 2-3lbs. of boost, they say) I laid down 300/330 at the wheels.

It`s show season and I want a little break from working on the car, so I will add a larger MAF (90mm) and injectors (42#) come fall or winter.

I should be in the 400s easy for both HP and TQ by then!
