If by chance lock de-icer gets on paint will it harm the paint? The product contains isopropanol and white carnation mineral oil.

isopropanol = rubbing alcohol. I highly doubt it would. I think it would evaporate to quick. Although it might strip any wax you have on the paint. Whenever i`ve used lock de-icer I would hold a rag under the lock to prevent it from running down the side of the door.

:yeah ...could strip wax or sealant but no other harm ...only chance might be on a single stage paint....

Millions of the little spray lock deicers are sold every year.

I can`t believe they`d be sold in such quantity if it was harmful to the paint.
