Detailed a 97 Mercedes today. I see the car about twice a year to “fix” it….the

swirl-o-matic takes care of it the rest of the time. You can imagine what the paint looked.

Process was:

Wash with NXT

Clay

SSR2.5 with orange pads on the cyclo

EX-P by hand

OCW

Total time was 3.5 hours.

I used an acid based wheel cleaner cut 50/50 on the wheels, the brake dust was horrible and CAKED on.

Before:

After: Tire dressed with Meguiars Hot shine (aerosol)

Here are some scratches that were on the trunk lid, these were all over the place.

After: The 2.5 handled all but the deepest defects.

Interior was a cakewalk. Costco APC 10:1 on everything.

Awesome job! Those E Class Benzos clean up very nice. I see that you too have discovered how SSR 2.5 leaves the paint in good enough condition to go straight to an LSP. By looking at your results, I think I am now commited to try OCW. The car looks absolutely stunning.

BTW, what kind of extractor do you have?

Amazing as usual joe :).

Did you use a level/protractor on those carpet lines? Yikes!

Acid is my new friend, thanks again.

The pics of the bumper and (I think) the trunk ... are those white specks dust or paint chips? They show up in both the "before" pics and the "after" pics.

In the befores, some of them are just bits if compound dust, in the afters you see the paint chips...it was the truck.

Sean, nope just a steady hand. :D THANKS!!!

Porkanbeans, LGCM and thanks!!

01bluecls, I buy my acid locally, but you can purchase the EO acid that Sean uses from "sparkleauto" do a google for it and it will up. I can`t remeber the correct URL. Just be careful with it. I cut mine 50/50, apply it to a cool wheel, count to 10, and hit with a PW. I also wear gloves, goggles, and a mask, better safe than sorry.

THANKS! everyone!!!

Here is the link for the Acid (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0007L7G3Q/ref=pd_ts_hi_8/104-8869291-8159167?v=glance&s=hi&n=12991471) I`ve been meaning to pick some up. I think I gave this link to Sean if I remember.

Nice work as always Joe :up

How do you like that little Husky PW? Electrics are ususally garbage, but I`m curious how you like yours.

I dig it. :nixweiss I mean it`s not like I am doing 5 cars a day, so for what *I* do, it works out great. It makes the job go faster and I don`t have to worry about being at someone`s house and dealing with their LOW WATER PRESSURE. I would like about 10 more feet of hose though. I got the PW for Christmas from my parents....along with a Meguiars collection. :D

I noticed the product page for the wheel acid says not for painted or clear coat wheels. Is it safe when dilluted? The Benz wheels look good, are they clear coat?
