We are finally going to get the 1966 Mustang finished up, and I will be giving it a detail tomorrow evening.

I plan on picking up a Raggtopp Vinyl top kit, so I figure I`ll be set for cleaning the top itself, but how should I go about cleaning the back window?

Here is what I`ll be working with

I`ve seen Meg`s PlastX (about $5) do some good work on clearing up haze on plastic. Let us know how it turns out and what you ended up using. As for making the vinyl (if that`s a vinyl top), I would try Meg`s #38 tire/trim dressing to make it look rich black like new.

I have a convertible and I like the following:

Cleaners: Amazing Roll-off and Raggtopp

Treatment: Raggtopp

I have a glass rear window but those I know with plastic rear windows like Plexus. 303 claenar is also very good.

I have used 303 and vinylex protectant on the top also. They provide a great look and good protection but I can not prevent "run-off" with theses products. Run-off (my definition) is where the product washes off the top during a rain or the next wash leaving a film on the windows and paint. The film is not harmful, just a nuisance.

A follow-up: do you known whether the white splotches are stains or whether the top has faded? If the top has faded, you may have to dye the top. There are products out ther for this but since I have no first or second hand experience, I will not comment
