I have a 98 SS, but am using the same process on it tomorrow. Today I detailed my 01 grand prix. It had swirls and many imperfections in the paint. I can not believe the difference between before and after. I dont have any before pics, but I do have after. I will post some pics of the camaro when i finish it as well. Here is what i did:

wash w/ dawn

claybar

wash again

menzerna final polish II

menzerna finishing touch glaze

menzerna full metal jacket wax

I am thinking about topping it with z2 pro.

Let me know what everyone thinks.

That`s what I`m talking about. I`ll be doing a similar process to my 300c next week. I`m going to top it off with Z2 Pro and Z8.

Great job.

Did you use IP at all?

Your ride is impressive! Black has that hate/love thing about it.

im a little unfamiliar what IP is? can someone help me out?

Nevermind, i got it.

No, i didnt use IP, I didnt want to do anything abrasive yet. What i did removed about 80% of the swirls and scratches. In a few months, I will start over with IP and repeat process to get the rest of the swirls.

FMJ is great isn`t it? Too bad is stains anything it comes in contact with..even the buffing towel i used.

Any probs using the glaze...I heard some people having probs with it streaking. And did it really add anything to the final result?

I just got Z2Pro but I think I will top with a carnauba during the summer months for the looks

Love FMJ these days. The glaze isn`t too bad to use as long as you can apply it thinly and have some good MF towels to mop it up. Glazes can be difficult to use as the oils do not want to dry.

BTW, you guys will not be able to top with Zaino Z2 Pro. I don`t think it will cross link over FMJ. You would have to do the reverse and top Z2 with FMJ.

IMO FMJ is just as good as Z2Pro. Leave it as it is. Even if zaino were able to bond, you wouldn`t notice a difference.

Looks good, how many of you using FMJ are topping it with Caranuba, and with what result?

Menzerna products are the best. I will most likely use them over anything else for the future now. It`s the best to work with, and the results are stunning.

I have used the Finishing touch Glaze a bit lately and as long as it is used very thin you will be amazed. I used a grey finishing pad with my PC and a 3 inch line of the glaze which I was able to cover a whole door panel or half the hood on a midsize car. It is important to use a high quality microfiber towel to remove it also, I noticed that the better the towel the less streaks. Hope this answers some questions on the glaze.
