Hi, im a little new to autopia and detailing, but heres my problem. Im having bad issue of hard water stains on the car that Im detailing, so im wondering if there is a filter that i can attach to my hose to help out the problem. My first thought was the Mr. clean auto dry system but i wasnt sure about it. Has any body used one yet or is there something better to help filter the hard water. Also i dont have anywhere to get out of the sun, im right in it:(

The Mr Clean AutoDry system uses a water softening filter on your hose. That should be able to leave you with spot-free water. If this is your car you`re talking about, and you can`t find any shade, wash your car in the early morning when the sun`s rays are not so intense. You will have more time to dry it that way, before any spotting can occur.

Well the cars are actually customer cars and i live on florida east coast so the suns rays are really intense. The car i usually detail in the morning comes out great but the ones in the afternoon are the ones Im having problems with. Im also thinking about getting a tent. But i will try the mr clean system. thanks

I got a garden hose filter with the water softener cartridge from Pure Water Products (http://www.pwgazette.com/gardenhosefilters.htm) . The filter is rechargable.

It works really well, though it does cut down some on the water pressure.

All right thanks man that sounds like it should help...I figure that some type of filter would cut down the pressure but as long as the cars come out better looking im not worried about the pressure.
