I am president of the Gulf Coast Healey Club (Houston area), and we are looking for someone to do a demonstration on how to detail your car on June 11 after our monthly club meeting. The guys I was going to try to get has vanished, and I don`t have any other leads, yet.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to find someone to help us with this. I really want to find someone who is up on the latest products and techniques. ANY ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
TIA

Hi Patton, :welcome to Autopia!
I trust the drive over from BCF was pleasant. ;)
Over there the suggestion was made to check with some local carwashes and detail shops. I would add a caveat to that. The majority of guys you`ll find in places like carwashes and high throughput detail shops are interested volume, not quality. Be very selective. Sure there are some who are quality conscious but it`s a crap shoot if you`re walking in cold and the odds are against you. Your chances are better with small detail shops and mobile guys.
Since you`re in a major metro area you probably have a very active Meguiar`s distributor in your area. (There are a whole bunch of dealers in your area but I`ll bet one or two of them handle a large volume of local detailer sales.) Hook up with the distributor and he`ll be able to point you to the guys in your neighborhood who do the best work.
Here`s a link to Meguiar`s website (http://www.meguiars.com/index.cfm).

I`d start with Gonzo... Perhaps if he`s not able to help, he can suggest someone that could.
