I know some shows will not let you apply tire shine on the floor of the event, and sometimes the tire shine splashes onto the body while driving (maybe I only have that problem). But anyway, has anyone ever used a QD like Final inspection to shine the tires instead of a tire shine?

Never used a QD. What else are you allowed to use? How about a vinyl dressing?

The rules just say "absolutely no tire dressings are to be applied on the showroom floor" I know the Final Inspection works well on the black rub strips and door handles so I was thinking it may work on the tires also.

Something like 303 first applied to a tire swipe then wiped on the tire ought to leave behind no mess. Are you referring to a water based dressing? If not, those clear, oily products are infamous for slinging.

I am using endurance tire gel right now. But as I said some shows will not allow tire dressings to be applied after you park, which is when I prefer to do it.

Apply it just before you pull into the building then.

Doing it before is the obvious answer but I am attempting to avoid the tire shine all together.

IMO, what they are trying to avoid is anyone putting ANYTHING on their tires on the show floor, because they will likely touch the applicator to the floor, which would probably leave a residue/stain of some sort on the floor.

:nixweiss All I can say is to thoroughly clean the tires with a good rubber cleaner. Dress the tires, allow the dressing to dry thoroughly the day before the show then perhaps give them a good second coat right before you go. I`ve found thorough cleaning of the tires first is a must to ensure no slinging and an even, maximum shine.

Probably true. The show it at a car dealer and I am not 100% sure that I am even going to attended. The judging there is worse than the NCRS shows.
