It is said to test it using the swipe test.

Run your finger on the hood, if the product comes off without any streaking or smearing, its ready.

For the best results you should wait for the NXT to cure before adding a second coat. Cure time usually takes between 12 to 24 hours.

Just FYI, the paste version sets up for removal much more quickly than the liquid.

The layering process has a cure time. NXT has cleaners in it which, although mild, can remove the uncured layer somewhat. The curing stage IMO, represents a change in durability ( resistance ) to the cleaning agent/s/ in the new application. That is why, I think the recommendation to wait 24 hrs is given... BTW, it seems most Polymer sealants require some "wait time. Zaino w/ZFX accelerant seems to be the exception due to that accelerant usage. Without the ZFX, Zaino has the same recomendation....one application daily- it must be a polymer "thing"....:xyxthumbs

Even with the a warm climate with high humidity in SE Asia, I leave nxt for about 15-20 mins before i wipe it off. One time I left for 10 mins and it had white streak after one day. So I usually leave it extra longer than suggested.

It really depends on how much moisture is in the air. If it is at a dry place like Arizona, you can wipe it off right away.

However, here in the NW, more time is needed, and so I usually do the whole car, and take it off starting from where it went on first. Seemed to work fine.

The cure time should be at least 24 hours, or else you will still be removing some of the wax on the first layer. I personally would just do a layer a week, since weekly wash tend to weaken NXT.
