Gotta hang up the polishers for a bit. My right arm is going numb from shoulder to fingertips. Also pins-and-needles. also phantom temperature changes - cold to hot, then normal for a while. Xrays show disk shrinkage/collapse/erosion at C6-7 and symptoms confirm this. Specialist says first physio, then maybe injection of cortizone at site, then maybe to the KNIFE - fusion or laminectomy unknown at this time. First physio today - every exercise aggrivated the base level of P&N and numbness. MRI tomorrow to get accurate determination of disk damage. 3 principal aggravations are driving the car, mousing on computer and lying flat on my back.

Wish me luck - I will need all of it I can get ahold of.....

How old are you, G?

I had that, I`m 50. It was diagnosed as cervical stenosis. I was in a pretty bad way about a year ago, living on ipuprofen and percocets.

I did 12 weeks of physical therapy in Nov/Dec/Jan as a first option, and it worked pretty well. I know it`s still there, but it`s been held at bay for the last 4 months.

Hang in there. There really is such a thing as "no pain" again.

Ouch! I hope everything works out. I`d hate to hang up my buffer and go back to restaurant management. http://www.scottwax.com/rice/videos/smilies/sad.gif

I feel for you Gonzo. My wife has two herniated disks and when they are acting up she is miserable.

I`m 57. I had a laminectomy at C6 LHS 10 years ago. Woke up in recover room symptom free and been that way ever since. Now it RHS.

Don`t get old - the ailments suck!

I will be getting a double fusion - C5-6 and C6-7 - next Tuesday. They do it via the throat. Discharge the following day. Hard imobilizing collar for 3 weeks with ZERO driving. After 6 weeks or so, on Dr orders physio may resume again for strengthening. Looks like my poor car will need to wait until September for that third layer of SG.....
