For those that take their detailing gear with them to car shows etc, how do you carry it all?

I just have a plain old plastic tray at the minute which is useless. Ideally i want some kind of holdall with net pockets in to carry everything but cant find one anywhere, even ebay.

Any suggestions?

I use this double tool box (the top half is removable to get to the lower section) to keep my cleaning gear in (apart from my PC, pads and MF towels) everything else goes in here.

Cost me £25 from Argos.co.uk (http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=3151&productId=117125&Trail=C%24cip%3D21509.DIY%2C%2Bgarden%2Band%2Bpets %3EC%24cip%3D21515.DIY%2Btools%2Band%2Bequipment%3 EC%24cip%3D21522.Tool%2Bkits%3EFC%24Brands%3DBlack +%26+Decker.Black%2B%26%2BDecker&categoryId=21522&clickfrom=image)

Fits in my car no problem and keeps everything together. The top has a useful compartment on top which I use for clay, measuring caps, coins (to open Megs #16 can) and other small bits.

Only trouble is that I now need more storage :p

I keep my stuff in a big plastic box, one of those oversized tupperware type boxes.

I used to carry 4 Autoglym bags with most things in them, in the end cut it down to the things I knew I would use.

One of the Green Ag bags should be able to take most that you need bottle wise.

My old football duffel bag from high school works like a charm, center is large enough for a PC and rotary, backing plates, and pads and the side pockets store about 5 quart bottles or 10 pint bottles each. When I go mobile there isnt anything other than towels I can not fit. They were supplied to us for free but Eastbay carries them for relatively cheap. They also have smaller ones for shows where you wont be needing a rotary.

RCBuddha, those are pretty wide. What are they and where can you get em?

I ALWAYS have this tote with me on the road. I`d be more prone to leaving the Amex card at home before I were to leave this :D Although sometimes I admit the polishes don`t always come too.

They are made by Sterilite, and are located in the household section of Target. There is an even larger one that you can get, but i liked theses b/c they were deeper. Since I use condiment bottles and misters, I am able to fit quite a few products in each one. :)

Looking good Bill! I`ve always wanted to transfer to little bottles like that.

I use 2 of these since I use the two bucket method when washing.

1 bucket for chemicals

1 bucket for towels, applicators and accessories

I have a tote bag for my buffers and I put pads in there.

I also carry a vacuum, extension cord and little stool.

Im digging that thing, available in the US? I need something that i can neatly store my supplies both at home and at school (3 hours away) but easily transport between home and school as well. Two of those could work real nice.

Thanks Seth. I know you`d especially like that bag as it is a Polo Ralph Lauren item :D

I have one of those buckets, got mine at Home Depot. Those hooks look interesting. I don`t use it much other than perhaps to hold some soap solution for pads for a quick hand wash and rise with the hose during a full detail. And yep, it does come in quite hand for transporting quite a bit of products.

I have the casters too Bill ;) Sure beats carrying that puppy around the car!

NorCalZ71, I have seen those chests at KMart, WalMart and Home Depot.

I have the super classy, highly expensive way to carry my supplies. It envolves a couple of wine boxes (best to take out the wine first, you decide though) and use the inserts already there. It costs you all of a trip to a liquor store.
