Hello all!!

First...the car.

This `05 belongs to a weekly regular of mine. She purchased it brand new in February and I have been washing it once a week since then. I told the owner to hold off on any big detail sessions until the pollen season was close to done. With just about 4K on the odo...today was that day. :D I LOVE these new Z`s and G35`s. If ever there was a Japanese import that could make me part with my WS6 it is the Z and the G!! The design and overall layout of the car is just plain sexy to me. Nissan definitely hit a home run with these machines. If Nissan puts some type of forced induction (either a turbo or a blower) on them from the factory...I`m going to have to do some soul searching!!

The drama...

Last Friday it rained and I was unable to make our weekly appointment. That Saturday, since she was going out of town on vacation for a few days and wanted a clean Z for her trip the owner took her car to one of those "$20 hand wash" places that litter the landscape here in Georgia. For her $20 she got this...

She called me up this Monday pratically in tears. The owner of the wash told her that "that is just a risk you run with hand washes" and offered to fix it for her. She said there was no way they would touch her car again and that she would have her detailer invoice him. ;)

Here is the result after:

Meg`s ScratchX by hand with a terry applicator

Menzerna IP using a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 6.

Menzerna FP using a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

The rest of the car was in excellent shape with very little if any swirling. They scratch the beejeezus out of one part but don`t mar the rest of the car...go figure. :nixweiss

The detail:

Wash with Meg`s Gold Class shampoo

Clay with Mother`s clay bar using Meg`s #34 as a lube.

Polish/Glaze with ClearKote`s VM using a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 5.

Seal with Meg`s #20 using a Meg`s 8006 pad and my PC set at 4.

Enjoy,

Mike

Nice job on that car. I love Nissan Z`s too, however I perfer the regular hardtop to the convertible.

Do you usually use VM on light colored cars???

very nice, i dont know if i could replace my fbody with a z (well plus i know alot of @$$holes that have Z`s), but maybe the G, thoes are nice. but neither are near as fast (as your ws6) ever run your car at the track? il guess a low to mid 12 sec car with the mods on your page

NIce job fixing the Z. That`s why I`m the only one who touches my Z. Like you said, the Z is great.

Awesome job. There is a lot of flake in some of those shots. My comment on the scratches is now you see em, now you dont. Nice work.

:bow Great Mike. I haven`t seen that much flake since I looked at my car. ;)

Even our upscale Sky Wash in Alpharetta is swirl city. A good friend is on their unlimited $70 a month plan and he`s got swirls everywhere. All of these places wouldn`t know microfiber if it jumped up and bit them on the you know what. Everyone use the Scratchamatic brand cotton terry towel.
