Scratches

While at an overnight car show my son`s 68 camaro was scratched on the left front quarter panel. The scratch is pretty deep but not wide. There is a suspicion that it was a bike`s handlebar or something else the kid had in his hands. My question is can the paint be salvaged or do we need to re-paint it? The paint shop thought it was too deep but wanted to check here first.



The paint is less than a year old and the scratches themselves are thin but deep.

That looks right through the clear coat.



Only thing you could try is wetsand it, then follow with scratch-X.
