If you can`t find it locally Autopia sells Clay Magic:

Yup this clay is as good as anything, and it comes with 2 lubes, and the lube is excellent. If you use 1/2 bottle of lube on each car and cut the bar into quarters, you can clay 4 cars no matter how bad off they are.

You can purchase that Clay Magic Kit at your local Autozone. Although it doesn`t come with two lubes, you caan just use the diluted soap and water technique.

Good alternatives are Sonus and 3M

In my search of Autozones for 99 cent #26, none of them had Clay Magic, only Mothers.

I have made a little study of this...there seem to be two basic clay types, the "ball" and the "bar" (clay magic type). The best price for the ball clay that I have found is Top Of The Line Clay Away at $15.95 ($.070/gram); you can also get Griot`s for $19.99($.088/gram).

For the bar clay, the best price I have found is the Sonus Block refill in the Autopia Store at $9.95 ($.090/gram), followed by the Sonus Block 2-pack with the plastic box for $18.95 ($.095/gram). Also a good deal is AutoGeek, selling the Optimum clay for $9.95 ($.097/gram).

Depending how you value the QD that is sometimes supplied with clay, the Perfect Shine Kit, Meguiar`s Quick Clay, and Clay Magic, all at the Autopia store may be a better deal.

I haven`t factored shipping into the equation, and there are some compounding differences likely within the two types (as well as color). Can you tell I bought a bunch of clay over the winter? ;) :o I haven`t used the "ball" type yet, so someone else will have to contrast it for you.

I`m a fan of the Sonus Block clay as well. Highly recommended. :)

FWIW, in my searches for #26 on clearance, most of them had Clay Magic, $9.99.

ClayMagic and Mother`s. Both very good, I find the ClayMagic to be a touch more aggressive, but the trade-off is a less malleable clay.
