Pls suggest DACP replacement

I do my 3 step process every quarter.

Since I started detailing (about a year and a half ago), I used DACP as my cleaner/polish.

Since last year, I follow it up with DACP and finally NXT as my LSP.

DACP has given me excellent results no doubt about that but no matter how hard I try keeping those dusts off the trims, some still manage to get through the masking tapes.



I haven`t tried any other cleaner that is as good or even better than DACP so I would welcome any suggestion.

I want a cleaner that I can use with my Dewalt 443 and does not produce "dust."

Menzerna IP/FPII. Also, Have you ever tried pressure washing the dust off? If you are using DACP until it dusts you might be working it too long. Another Autopian pointed out this thread because I`m starting to use DACP myself.

So far, all suggested products are available only online.

DACP (most Meguiars products in general) is a bit easy to purchase OTC here in my area.

Another vote for SSR 2.5, if you want something easier to use than DACP. IP can dust as much as DACP and has other quirks imo.

Can you find 80 locally? Menzerna polishes are worth ordering online, they truly are the most forgiving polish line I`ve tried. If you need to add moisture all you have to do is spritz in the middle of polishing, if you put too much all you have to do is work longer, unless the pad is gunked. It`s good stuff and mostly water based, although they have added minor polishing oils in their new FPII formula. I don`t know about the po85, but that polish looks pretty awesome.

I never had any qiurks at all with IP, but it isn`t as aggressive as DACP so don`t expect the same cutting. The difference is if you have a light color you will not need a finishing polish most of the time, IP leaves a nice finish if you use it right.

Maybe I should try that and see if it produces same or better result.

This po85rd is supposed to be awesome if you feel like spending the extra. Do a search 04caobra and GRS did an pretty cool review on it.

megs, I`m a big Menzerna fan. IMO, IP *can* be quirky if you apply too little...it dusts and dries and cakes. If you use the right amount or more, it`s very forgiving. Up until recently it was my go to polish.



I`m starting to love the new Mothers PowerPolish (MPP). I suggest you try it as its becoming available OTC at Mothers outlets.



It doesn`t dust, is VERY forgiving, you can`t misuse it, it doesn`t dry (you can work it as long as you like), and you don`t need to know ANYTHING about polishing.



MPP is very pad dependant, where it`s aggressiveness varies wildly depending on pad choice. With a yellow pad it cuts about the same as IP, maybe a tad more. Leaves no hazing. With a green pad it works like a finishing polish.

Wouldn`t hurt to have 3 cleaners/polishes as I`m regularly detailing 3 cars right now (mine, dad`s, and sister`s).

What`s good about MPP is that you only need one polish for everything between #83 and #9, or IP and FP (although NOTHING finishes as nicely as FP!). Just three different grades of pad.

Does the Mother`s have any fillers or oils? Personally it looked very attractive the last time I looked! (on that note any ideas of PowerWax?

From what I understand it does contain fillers.



Also, *this is my theory*, it also contains a glaze, because it leaves the surface feeling slicker than most sealants. It even beads like a sealant when it`s rained and I hadn`t topped it!



*I* believe its a polish and glaze. But thats just my conclusions.



I don`t have any experience with PowerWax.

PowerPolish is a good all around product-probably a touch less aggressive than DACP and wipes away easily-you can modify its strength by using a more or less aggressive pad-definitly worth a shot

My first choice would be Optimum polish. Little to no dusting, and all splatter/residue wipes off easily.



I buffed a white Audi last week at my house and left half the hood with Optimum polish on it for 2 whole days. Came back the 3rd day and it wiped right off, even off the wiper blades.



FPII is also a great polish with little dusting and easy clean up. In fact Opt polish and FPII are the only 2 polishes I carry with me in my truck now.
