Would this be harmful or has anybody tried it. I desperatly need to keep the brakedust off my wheels.

I`d get a dedicated dust repellant. For OTC, if you can find it: Mothers Clear Coat Wheel Polish is good and the new Michelin brake dust repellent sounds promising. I`m probably going to track down some Collinite Insulator Wax myself to have in my arsenal with the Mothers.

I use Wolfgang sealant on my wheels. It is by far the best sealant I have used to date for keeping brake dust to a minimum.

I wouldnâ€â„¢t do it . . . use a quality sealant or change to a low-dusting brake pad. RainX is specifically designed for glass and plastic.

I guess the only way to find out is to try it. As the others have said, a sealant is a very good idea and really makes a big difference when it is time to clean the wheels
