Things to try:

Clay

AIO

Polish

I have a couple spots on my paint that were caused by bird crap. They are permanent. I have tried all kinds of things to no avail. Maybe you can get lucky.

Did you have any protection on the paint when this happened?

Welcome to Autopia!

Depending on what the bird ate that day it may have etched into your paint. Try the steps that Paul mentioned, and if you have to polish, and if you`re going to do it by hand, you can try Meg`s ScratchX. It may take several applications to remove or minimize it. Here is a good guide to using ScratchX:

I`ve seen bird s**t etch into a finish in a few hours, and then I`ve seen some cars that have had it on there for weeks with no damage. The last time I had that problem I was able to polish it out with an orange pad and Meg`s DACP. But as I said, if you have to do it by hand ScratchX may take it out for you. Good luck!

It`s more like it`s under the clear coat.I can polish it but you can only see it at different angles.

That`s how mine are. You can only see the spots from a certain angle in the right lighting.

The first one I removed was like that. The paint felt smooth, but at different angles/light you could see it. I really thought it must have stained deep into the clear coat since it felt flush and smooth. The next time I polished the car I hit that spot with DACP on an orange pad and it took it right off.

On another forum someone had the same problem. He described the bird bomb as"The texture is smooth, as if nothing had happened, but the sight is horrible! Its only visible at certain angles but its still making me feel uneasy! I tried re-claying, detail spray, wax, degreaser, and a orange based cleaner, acetone but still nothing." The suggestions went as far as wet-sanding it out.

I suggested ScratchX and this was the result: "I buffed with Meg`s ScratchX. It took a solid 1.5 hours of buffing, cleaning, reapplying, buffing, but now the etching is no longer visible!"

It`s worth a try, you might get lucky.
