A new client asked me to detail his 02 Vette for an upcoming car show (today actually) so I spent the good part of Thursday tuning up his ride that was fairlly clean to begin with.

Washed and clayed it then went to work with the rotary (Metabo) and some of the new buffing pads by American Buffing. I used Optimum Polish on all the steps, from leveling to finish work. The American Buffing pads sure are sweet pads to work with. I love their white finishing pad as it is totally flat and very thin, great balance, super soft.

It has been really humid here with thick cloud coverage so I was rather upset I could not check my work in the sun (swirls and such) because the last think I want is for the car to have swirls while being judged:nono ! It is still really cloudy this morning so I am sure things will be fine. The engine was cleaned with my steamer, English Custom Polish for the metal work and Gliptone`s Clear Coat Wax for the paint work/carbon fiber. The engine is stunning! He put alot of work into it.

I also use English Custom Polish on the rear pipes. The interior got a general cleaning, cept the interior paint work was finished with OCW. I used Optimums Tire Shine for the tires and cleaned and sealed with the wheels with Gliptones Heavy Cut for clear coats (which is not "heavy" cutting wise at all, very mild) and then waxed with their Clear Coat Wax. Gliptone has some pretty nice products:up

The paint work, after being polished, was finished out with a sealant we shall, for now call, "Brand X". Got a test sample of something to try and that`s all I will say on that for now.

Well enjoy the pics and again sorry no sun shots:(

Anthony

Nice job Anthony! I love the carbon fiber around the engine bay...what did you use to clean/dress it? - Anything special?

Nothing was used to dress the engine as he did not want it to look to "fake". The hoses and such were just cleaned and wiped down and the carbon fiber was cleaned and then waxed with a product from Gliptone called "Clear Coat Wax". I mild cleaner/wax combo that leaves a very nice finish behind.

Thanks:)

Terrific job, Anthony! I was unaware you also detailed lowly Corvettes in addition to Porsche and Mercedes. ;)

The paintwork looks great as always but I really like the engine detailing you did. First rate work!

Brand `X`, eh? :nervous2:
