The Process:

Two Bucket Wash with Adams Soap

Mother`s FX Synwax via Propel Grey and the PC

Wipe with Excel MF Supreme Towel.

Adams VRT on Tires, and Running boards

Adams Glass Cleaner for Glass

A little of FX spray wax to touch up missed spots

Dark Shots:

Notes:

I must say, i`m impressed with FX Synwax. It`s: Reflective, easy to use, slick and seems to darken the paint as well as a carnauba. I`ve been using Boutique products for a while now, and so i was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this OTC product thus far. :xyxthumbs

My only gripes are that the "shampoo" type bottle is bad at dispensing the wax. Easily solved by transferring it to a condiment squeeze bottle.

The mister of the FX spray wax is pretty good and it wipes off cleanly. Didn`t seem to add to the look of the just applied FX, but from what i`ve read, its supposed to be a booster of sorts.

As promised, some pics in the sun:

Going to need to try some Mothers Power Polish on the paint:

Great job!

I like the french title, "détail du jour"... ;)

I presume it means Detail of the Day, right?

Je lave mes voitures tout les jours. :D

Nice detail, btw. I saw the ad for the new products in my Car & Driver magazine. How does it compare to NXT?

Say wha? :p I took spanish in school..:D :p

I found to be easier to spread (via PC) and MUCH easier to remove. I think it is also a little bit slicker and a little bit more reflective. I was walking up to my car earlier, and it had a very glassy look.

My understanding is that the M21 Sealant from Meguiars is similar to FX, I`m trying to get my hands on a sample so I can put them side by side in a test.

I`ll be monitoring durability for the next few weeks. Hopefully, it will last at least a month.

Was the title suppose to be Spanish or French? Or was it Spanish but similarities enabled Frenchies to understand as well?

Jour- day

Je lave mes voitures tour les jours quand il fait beau, mais aujord`hui, il pleut. Mes voitures sont tres degout.

Hmm, better than NXT. That`s a change. Never really liked Mother`s products.

No no...it was a play on the saying "Soup Du Jour". That`s about all the French i know...:)

I have always been a Meguiars kind of guy. But I feel that the FX is much easier to use and looks better than NXT. It seems that Mothers really worked hard to make this product, and the effort shows. I`m eager to try their Power Polish and Reflections next...stay tuned

Je lave mes voitures- I wash my cars

Tout les jours- Everyday

Quand il fait beau- when it is nice outside

mais aujord`hui- but today

il pleut- it`s raining

Mes voitures sont tres degout- my cars are very disgusting. (pollen, plus parking outside, plus rain...)

I do like their clay bars though.

You can not use "dégout" here, use instead "dégoutant", and here, like it is "mes voitures", it will be "dégoutantES".... :D

After 8 full weeks, the FX has held up quite well. Granted, this is without rain (the perks of living in sunny Southern California) but the paint still feels slick after washing, and it still looks quite good. Beading is still pretty strong. I`ve only been able to wash the car every other week since 4/21/05; a new job has kept me quite busy. But still, the car feels smooth and has retained its "glassy" look that I got from the pictures at the top of the thread.

Overall, I`m very happy with the product, and I would recommend to anyone who is currently using NXT or a similar OTC sealant.

I originally missed this thread.

The your 4Runner looks really reflective - sort of a Zaino look from the pics.

How has the durability been to date?

Good, it has definitely lost slickness, but it still beads fairly well. I will be doing a Powerpolish/FX treatment probably next week.
