Ok my first post so dont be too rough.

I worked as a detailer at a Benz dealership as a highschool job. They didnt really do any training but i learned some cool tricks of the trade.

But now i discovered this website and i need to refine what im doing and follow you guys.

I want to start over with my cleaning supplies. So my question is...

What do i need to start detailing my new car.

I got a 1998 black pontiac GTP.

Im only intrested in working with the paint right now.

I have a pc on the way...which pads, and waxes and etc??

thanks

OK, I`ll make some suggestions and try to keep it simple.

Polish: Poorboy`s SSR2.5 and SSR1

Wash: Poorboys SS&S (Super Slick & Suds Car Wash)

Pads: Sonus DAS (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/sondas.html) or Propel (http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=exceldetail&ct=29307) pads (order a kit and you`ll also get the correct size backing plate).

Clay: You can probably find some Clay Magic locally, it looks like this. (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/awc-88256.html)

Wax/Sealer: Poorboy`s EX for dark colors or EX-P for light colors. If you want to top your sealer with a carnauba wax you can try some Poorboy`s Natty`s paste.

Tire Dressing: Poorboy`s Bn`B (Bold N Bright)

I tried to stay with one brand (Poorboy`s) since their products are easy to use. There are a lot of different combos/products to try, but these will get you started and then you can experiment.

I agree with Eliot... you can start with those considering the Poorboy`s product line is sun-friendly. I personally started with these products:

Polish: 4* SMR

Wash: Meg`s Gold Class

Propel Pads: 1 black, 2 blue, 2 green, 1 yellow, 1 orange (in order of increasing abrasiveness)

Clay: 4* clay

Paint cleaner: 4* paint cleaner

Sealer: 4* UPP

Just another route of products to consider.
