Yeah, the M is the last one I`m posting. :p

1997 Ford Expidition. My brother`s SUV. Regularly driven down dirt roads to a horse barn and washed infrequently. He wants to sell it and buy his Mother-in-Law`s Mountaineer so since he maintains my websites, I figured I could detail his truck.

This will also show why I don`t do a lot of before and after shots. I can`t control the angle and intensity of the sun and with metallics especially, it can make a huge difference.

Before shot:

Clayed, #80 with a Meguiars polishing pad, Vanilla Moose with a polishing pad, EX-P+ by hand. Moose Wax on the black trim on the doors, Meguiars Insane Tire Shine (nice product but a bit too shiny for me) on the tires and Meguiars #38 on the running boards.

As you can see, the movement of the sun completely changed how the truck looks. The polishing and sealing did help though. ;)

2002 BMW X5. Regular customer. Good condition but hadn`t been waxed since November. #80 with a green Propel pad and EX w/carnauba by hand. Quick, easy and great on black!

2004 Acura MDX. Used AIO/Shokar on it last time (late January) and it was still looking real good, had decent slickness and was beading nicely. My customer said it was the best stuff I`ve used on his vehicles in the 10 years I`ve been taking care of his cars. This is the guy who washes his vehicles 3-6 times a week so I was impressed how well Shokar held up to that many touchless car washes and also since the truck sits in the sun all day. I told him I am saving my Shokar sample for him and one other customer but since it won`t be sold this year (maybe never now :( ) when it is gone, its gone.

Just topped it off with another layer of Shokar and finally got some sun shots.

2006 Infiniti M45. Really nice car, much nicer interior than his old Q45. He`d only had it 6 days when I got my hands on it. Paint was very smooth so no claying needed. I just polished it with Klasse AIO and a blue Propel pad and sealed with Shokar by hand.

As you can see, in the direct sun, wetness on pearl paint is tough to capture on film.

The shade shows it off better.

Gorgeous Infiniti. They don`t have a car out now that I dislike. I really like the white alot better than that soft poop colored car they sent out to all the magazines earlier in the year.

Very nice Scott!

I really like the hood shot of the Acura. Really shows off the Shokar look! I wish it was coming out, but oh well!

Why did you not do more aggressive polishing on the Expedition? There are still swirls and marring in the after picture.

Love the new M.

I guess white isn`t the most flattering on that vehicle. A nice black one, with the sport wheels, non-chrome. MMmmmm....

The "soft poop" line was hilarious!!!!!!!!

There were some very light swirls/scratches left but no marring. I think that is just the way the light is hitting it. The clarity of the paint was vastly improved.

Why didn`t I get even more aggressive? Because my brother told me not to kill myself detailing it. It is an 8-year-old truck that has seen hard use. Towing a horser trailer, dirt roads, a toddler, etc. He seemed upset I put nearly 6 hours into it as it was. Believe me, the before shot doesn`t really do justice to how chalky the paint was in some places. It has also had several panels and the front end repainted since it has been in 3 accidents (only one was my brother`s fault when he side-swipped a fence post backing up the trailer.

Beautiful as always! The M45 is very nice but I don`t care for the chrome wheels, but it wasn`t my $$$ buying it so i`ll just shut up.

I think if you shoot white in 640x480 size it looks better. mho.

TW you need to spend one full day doing this for a living and you`ll see why Scott did not erase every swirl from that Expedition. The client was happy (even if it is a family member) and I would bet my last nickle that that SUV is a 110% improved over what it was before Scott touched it. That =`s a win situation in my book.
