Hi everyone, after looking through the forum, I am pretty impressed by the wet look effect created by Souveran wax. I could not get the Souveran wax locally and don`t feel like ordering over the net. So I am hoping to get some suggestions from the experts here which wax can create similar wet look effect as Souveran wax. The wax which I can choose from are #16, #26, NXT, Z2pro, S100, 3M Show Car Wax, Mother`s Step 3 and Tutle Ultra Gloss Wax.

Of course I understand the preperation of the paint is very important in order to acheive the wet look effect. Btw my car is red in colour. Thanks.

I dunno...I don`t think *anything* looks quite like Souveran except Souveran. But then I haven`t done a red car in about 25 years either :o

Hi Gen2.

I use Menzerna FMJ on my Laser Red Saab Aero. I would say FMJ looks very close to Souveran. Paste Souveran is wetter...but I think you would be happy with FMJ.

The only Carnauba wax that comes close to the `look` of Souveran is Zymol® Destinyâ„¢ ( this is the wax that CMA was trying (and IMO, very sucsessfully) to emulate with Souveran. A polymer (FMJ) cannot produce a 3-dimentional gloss (by light distortion) as it produces a very bright but flat (mirror like) shine.

Trade Secret my friend. I know I know, I never thought I would try it wither but so far I`m very impressed with it on my Mom`s 05 Mustang GT. Of course it`s black, but it did just as good if not better than the ol` Souveran did. It also collects the least amount of dust of any of the waxes I have put on it, and for black that is a very important thing!

On the other hand, hard to beat the FMJ/Natty`s combo I recenlty put on my Aunt`s Accord. It gives a very bright, soaking wet look that you may just like on Red, I know I like the 2 on Red!:D

Hi JonM,

Gee...FMJ looks 3 dimensional on my car. What colors have you put FMJ on?

Wow, that`s pretty good you can get Z2Pro locally. I`m not sure who/if it has been topped with Souveran but maybe from those poroducts you listed, try Z2Pro topped with S100 :nixweiss

A red single stage MB (client supplied Menzerna products) next time I used Souveran as a LSP he said he preferred that â€Ëœlookâ€â„¢.

The aesthetics of a vehicles appearance is very subjective to say the least; only by trying different waxes on your vehicle will you be able to decide what looks best to you.

Of the ones mentioned, I would vote for S100. Z2Pro also gives a great look. I don`t see the point in mentioning FMJ since that has to be ordered over the net, something that has clearly been stated as not an option.

BTW, great shots there, 04Cobra. Is the car in the first picture a new Mustang?

I would second this as well. Destiny, Concours, and Titanium (the pic below is Titanium on a five year old vehicle, applied by hand ...didn`t even use a PC), all will give a

Souveran-like wet look. They are a little more work to apply properly (and no, you do not have to use a bare hand or fingers)...Titanium moreso than the others...but the results can be worth it.

I know Zymol is the local whipping-boy. But, it is not bad stuff if you give it a fair chance.

PS -- Sorry about the poor quality pic, it was a low-res digital camera I was trying out. But, it demonstrates what I am speaking of.

don`t feel like ordering over the net.

Are you open to purchasing by mail order? That way you could acquire your PS. You`ll have one of the best waxes and if you do your homework buy it on sale plus get additional discounts where applicable. :xyxthumbs

Does the Autopia store still have Pinnacle products for 25% off? Would make ordering Souveran over the internet worth it. (To me, anyways.):)

Nothing matches the wetness of Souveran. S100 and Natty`s are very good but S100 and P21S are more reflective than wet. I have not tried Trade Secret yet.
