If the clay is cold, it can be hard to work with. Knead it a little and the warmth of your hands will soften it up.

yes you can microwave it, i always just leave it out in the sun for a few minutes....softens right up.

I have a bucket of warm soapy water, and i just dip it in there and use the soapy water and a towel to lubricate. The warm water makes the clay softer.

I either leave the clay is its plastic storage bag, or compress it between my hands for about 10 seconds. The warmth of your hands can soften it pretty quickly.

I use wash solution as a lube while washing the car. I keep a small amount of wash solution in a separate bucket with warm water and let the clay it in it a few minutes to soften. I also hold the clay over the bucket religiously when re-kneading, so that if I drop it, it goes in the bucket. I have yet to drop a piece on the ground, knock on wood!

wonder if the clay could be melted down to allow any impurities to seperate out...
