Is there a way of removing factory painted on pinstripes either with a chemical or compounding without ruining the cars paint?

Thanks

Sal

Its not the safest way but I have seen people blow them off using a pressure washer . . . You may try something like Goo Gone to disolve the adhesive underneath the decal. Once you get started it should just pull off without any problems.

Didn`t see the painted on part. It looks like too much trouble to me, unless you had a backup plan in repainting.

I am not aware of any brand that does pinstriping at the factory. My guess is it was done at a dealership (probably for an extravagant price - add on).

I once was able to remove some pinstriping with a 3M rubbing compound but you must be meticulous and mask off the surrounding area. Try an obscure area (if one exists) and see if it comes off easily. Also you must remove all wax and protectants first - of course. Good luck and be careful !
