About to start my first detail with the new pc and was wondering what pad I should use with ssr2.5, ssr1, and ex-p. I have the Sonus DAS orange, green, blue, and grey pads.

Thanks and have a good one!

It depends on the condition of the paint. Sonus orange with 2.5 should take care of most imperfections, followed by either 2.5 on green or orange. SSR1 on blue.

The car I`m going to work on has been neglected some what and has some oxidation, light scratches, and swirling. By the way it is a red Honda CRV.

So you would do ssr2.5 twice with two different pads and then follow up with ssr1 on blue and then ex-p with grey.

Thanks

Unless you have SSR2, the only thing you can do to remove the hazing that will left behind the orange pad and 2.5 is use 2.5 again with the green pad.

If you want to play it safe, actually see what 2.5 and a green pad does to get rid of your imperfections before jumping directly to the orange pad.

I hope you have more than one of each pad?

I only have one of each pad as of now but plan on getting some more very soon. How many of each should one have?

Thanks for the replies

For a hobbyist, 2 or 3 of each pad is a good bet. A professional would likely require more. As of now, I have 12 pads: 2 orange, 3 green, 3 blue, 1 gray, 1 SFX1, 1 SFX2, and 1 SFX3.
