I have an 05 Cooper S and cleaned the trim with greased lighting tested a small spot and no problems..

Then it rained at the greased lighting streaked the trim and left a whiteish residue. I tryed using stoner tar remover to clean it but the white has come back..

I can cover it with meguiar`s tire gel but would like to get the trim back to it`s orginal look.

Any suggestions ?? thanks :bow

Is this a pebbled plastic trim? Possibly you could try cleaning it with a mild detergent such as Woolite diluted 1part to 4parts water or 6 parts water and then dress it.

Most of us have learned to start with a mild cleaner and then work up to something more aggressive if needed. Degreasers such as GL can damage trim.

This (http://www.trimonex.com/page2.html) is a product I`d try.

Thanks for the input..

I have some trim paint already as that what I may end up doing. I did not realize grease lighting was so harsh :(
