Say you have a car and it is pretty decent shap but you want to go over the car one time before waxing to clean the paint and get rid of little scuffs and light oxidation.

what product would you use and how would you apply?

Do you have any swirls or scratches?

I`d use Menzerna Final Polish II, there is no such thing as best, but this would be the `best for me` for the circumstances you describe

I like Menzerna IP and FP II and PB 2.5 and 1 the best.

3M Machine Glaze. It`s a bit more aggressive than FPII, so a little more versatile IMO; it will knock out light swirls, and leave a ready-to-wax finish. I`ve used a cutting pad for even more bite with 3M MG, and still have been able to go right to wax/sealant.

I agree with Tort, 3M Machine Glaze all the way.

Yep, me too :xyxthumbs

I`d be careful about using it with a cutting pad, some cutting pads are too aggressive to leave a ready-to-wax finish on some paints (micromarring). This is a case-by-case thing....

3m Machine Glaze meaning PI III MG or its new PI 3000 equivalent? Just checking...

Heh heh, yeah...we`re gonna have to start being more specific, huh?

Well, maybe not ;) In this case I`d say either/or, but then I haven`t tried the PI-3000 stuff yet.

So far I havn`t heard anything that *really* points to a major functional difference between the two. We`ll see if the dreaded silicones ;) cause any trouble with LSPs like Zaino, etc.
