ive been reading on this site for like 2 years now and finally registered. i have a blue wrx, and i paid for a brand new paintjob after i got rear ended because i didnt wanna have to blend, and i plan on keeping it cleaner that the original crap subaru paint. so help me tweak my cleaning ways.

i basically just wash, claybar and wax most of the time.

1.wash with dish soap (i hear it gets off old wax and such)

2.claybar the car with clean wash soap or detailer stuff

3.wash again with clean car soap or your preference

4.dry it

5.apply desired wax (i like NXT)

any suggestions would be nice. the car is clean and smooth and the only thing i really dont like is the swirls. i plan on getting a PC buffer later.

here is some pics, everyone loves pics.:D

if this is your routine then I guess you could replace the dish soap with car shampoo and then clay while wet (after rinsing). this will save a lot of time and effort and then go to your lsp.

For the first wash, I would reccomend using good car wash soap still. No need for dish wash soap due to later steps.

Then clay and wash and dry as needed.

Then I would suggest a light polish of some form (for hand use). Something like AIO would be really nice.

Then go to your wax.

Thats just my suggestion :D
