Trying to remove some swirls and holograms from 2004 Eternal Blue Pearl Honda CRV. Used green Sonus pad and Megs 80 and it made great improvement in swirls but the holograms were still there. Should I step up to the Sonus orange pad and Megs 80? You can`t see the holograms in the first shot but once you move in and get the right angle they pop out.

I might even go DACP and orange if I were you...

I did orange and #80 on a badly swirled hood and it still left some of the swirls untouched.

I agree, try #83 with the orange pad and then go back over it with #80 and the green pad. Swirls are tougher than you think, huh?

A couple of days ago I posted pictures of the swirls I was trying to remove. Well I got tired of polishing with the 80 and just waxed the hood with 26. Figured I could get to using the DACP later in the week. Well today I go out and look for the swirls and they are all but gone. I took pictures 2 days ago and now they can`t be seen, no less take a picture of them. Can someone tell me what is going on. I felt like I was not completely removing the 80 after buffing but I could not get any more off. I even tried some QD but they still showed.

This is an aggressive combo but should work. Might leave some hazing, but finish with a polishing pad and # 80.

I personally used 3M FCRC and the Orange Sonus pad and it knocked the hell out of my swirls but left hazing. Finished with a white pad and 3M PI MG and it turned out incredible.

I really dont think #80 has the bite that it`s reputation would have you believe. (same for #83). I`ve recently tried both and was slightly disappointed.

anyways, I agree with someone else who recommends the 3M FCRC, (its awesome), and will knock the SH!!T out of those swirls. With 3M, I find you can work it till dry and buff it right out, thus only requiring a simple swipe with an MF. (with the Meg`s, you take product off when still wet...requiring more wiping with the MF and more work!! just my $.02

YES YES YES :up This is what I love about 3M`s stuff, if you work it correctly it wipes off so easily!!
