We`ve all seen the magnets that people put on their vehicles which say "Support our Troops". People have asked me if I would put one of these on my car and I said no. Not to be disrespectful to our troops, but I`m worried about pontential paint damage. Am I correct? I thought water would never really escape behind the magnet and cause the paint to peel or maybe blister? There would always be moisture behind the magnet sort of speak.

It causes etching, yes.

I had mine on for a couple months. I always cleaned the magnet thoroughly with AIO after every wash. The area on the paint was soaked with a soapy solution and rinsed.

After a couple months, I decided my support was pronounced and is still there in spirit, but I couldn`t risk the etching through my clear.
