Hi everyone, I am looking to get started on my first really good car detail. I figure as soon as this minnesota weather gets nice I am goin to detail my car.

Where should I start? its a 93 bonnevile, its white. I work at a trucking company so every saterday I get to wash my car for free. so far just by reading under the learn thumbnail above, i`ve learned that how i`ve been washing isn`t the best way. I`m looking to get started but i am on a limited budget, where should I begin?

click on the learn button and download the free Autopian detailing guide. They were very helpful in getting to know your way around the detailing scene. Use the search to research befor you ask. This is a very friendly board full of knowledge, have fun and welcome.

Start with mastering your wash techique. If that isnt done well, you will be polishing your car for nothing.

Then get some MF`s. I think all the vendors have very good quality towels, but you can get some "nice" ones at auto stores.

Walmart has some that arnt too bad. There is a big bleu one i like for drying.

A PC from Lowes and some pads and a backing plate from an online vendor.

Polishes.

Sealants, wax, dressings,

your done :)
