He pulled into the driveway at an angle behind my car.. when I left that night, I didn`t see that he wasn`t straight, hopped in and backed right into his drivers side door.

Pisses me off because his car was in really good condition all around.. I care for his car more than I do my hooptie that hit it.

Anyway, I took it to a body shop yesterday, the guy quoted me $860+ bucks to fix the door and repaint it. :shocked

I can buy a door from a junk yard or something for less than 100 bucks, and get it painted.. he said painting the door should cost right around $400 as well.

Do these prices seem a little high to you? It`s a 1992 Ford Mustang LX if it matters really.

Is that something a PDR guy could fix?

Thanks guys. :(

Buy the junkyard door. Getting it painted and matched someplace good should cost < $200. If you prep it yourself you could probably get it sprayed for ~$100

Finding a door for a fox body mustang should be easier than finding porn on the web;) Get a new door, prep it yourself (not hard at all, since it`s only one door), pay someone to spray it (~$100 or so), and you may need to pay them to install it too, I don`t know how mechanically inclined you are. And then swap the interior panels from the old door and your set.

Whatever you do, don`t pay someone $800 to do it!!!!!

[edit] i dont` know much about PDR, but you may be able to pay someone to bang it out for you, may not look 100% straight when it`s done, but hey it`s only a mustang....haha j/k

LoL! No way in hell I was paying someone 800 to do that ****, lol.. I almost choked when he said that crap. I`ve got a few lines on some doors locally.. we`ll see how they pan out. :|

The thing that concerns me is how the colors going to look on a freshly painted car when wedged between the rest of the not recently painted stuff? I know any body shop worth their salt should blend it, but wouldn`t that cost more?

Thanks again guys.
