umm they are polished wheels, that`s how it goes

for a permanant solution, get them clear coated

a good coat of sealant (zaino, klasse, etc) might help

Years ago I had a set of polished Centerline Sabers for my Mustang. I used Mothers aluminum polish and it worked great. The trick is to constantly polish them. I used to take the wheels off the car during the winter and just sit and polish them while watching TV. Cracked people up to see them sitting next to the TV all piled up. :D

Eventually I sold the Centerlines and bought painted Cobra R wheels. Life was easier. You should either clearcoat them, apply more elbow grease or move on. Good luck.

Ive got wheels with a polished lip.... A right royal PITA!

As 7000rpm says, I have to constantly polish them in the winter or they oxidise again within 1-2 weeks. The best solution Ive found so far (short of getting new wheels) is get a Dremel (or similar) multitool, a few polishing cloth tips and your favourite abrasive and get cracking! Saves alot of cramp in the fingers thats for sure, and then when done use a good sealant and pray you get a couple of weeks off before doing it all over again :D....

I will say that one of the nice thing about my polished wheels is that if I got a scratch, gouge or curb rash it would polish out. That`s a big plus compared to painted wheels. If you clearcoat then you won`t be able to polish out the scratches. I polished by hand but perhaps with a power tool it wouldn`t be bad.

The key seems to be to keep on it constantly. My Mustang wasn`t a daily driver and garaged so it wasn`t too bad. I wouldn`t want polished wheels on my everyday driver. They were beautiful wheels though. Good luck.
