Had some variable weather today but managed to get some work done on the car. I feel that I am close now to the finish I am looking for on my car, and I have to thank you all for your help in getting me this far.

OK as in the subject I went through the following process

washed and dried the car - BMW shampoo

Menzerna FPII (car was done with IP + FPII last week so didn`t feel the need to IP again) PC set to 5, red polishing pad.

Applied Carlack68 using the PC again set to 5 this time using black polishing pad, wiped off with WW MF.

Finally applied 1 x P21s (perhaps do another coat tomorrow).

For reference I have included some images of the car done in December using AG twins and P21s, it is very apparent in daylight that Carlack68 is a massive improvement, I think you can probably just about tell from the photographs which is AG and which is Carlack68 .... I will mention at the bottom which is which just in case :)

The pics then !

Bit of damage to my tyre and rim there !

This one is the wifes car that I detailed 2 weeks ago, it is showing how Z16 Tyre stuff is holding up, I think it is doing very well on a daily driver in the UK winter!

Whoops fogot to mentiion the first 2 pairs of pics, Carlack is the top pic in each case. The other pics to compare are the full front ons, Carlack is the bottom pic - everything else is carlack, except the wife`s car which is Zaino ( I have some befores and afters of that too, but can`t be bothered uploading them just yet - Z made a HUGE difference to her car though!)

Hey Axe, you need to get that tire replaced. That bulge is an impact bulge and can burst at anytime! Other than that, nice job!:D

Thanks for the heads up 04Cobra, I will get the tyre place down the road to check it over ... damn not another £150.00 for a new tyre!

You certainly can see the difference in the clarity of the reflections and like before, nice photos, especially the close-up of the paint metalic fleck.

Glad you had some decent weather, it rained all day here, just as I was ready to get started with the new PC.

Oh well :up

It is good stuff RichPug, I don`t think you will be dissapointed, to be honest the pics are not doing it justice, the car actually looks wet .. these pics are just to be consistant with the pics I took with AG Twins. However, weather permitting tomorrow I will try to improve the photographs, with some better locations.

Its a very unusual look, when you apply the Carlack, once you work it in you can see how it creates a depth, almost a new finish to the car. I can see why some people say `not everyone likes this type of finish` ... I think it looks great, and if only Meguiars UK hadn`t let me down (sending me the wrong product, and taking a whole 7 days to do it) I would have polished with #80 first.

Thanks NickM .. and maybe you will get some decent weather tomorrow in the midlands, I hope so!

Nice work Axe... can`t wait to try Carlack myself. Should be interesting, as I`ve been using AIO quite a bit lately.

Also, get that tyre sorted out quick... it might last for another six months, or it might blow tomorrow. I wouldn`t take the risk for the sake of £150.

Really nice job!

I can`t really tell which is which - they all look good.

Is Carlack 68 the same as Klasse AIO?

Where did you source the product?

(I used Google and found 2 sources of the product in the UK and both of these were Glider suppliers!)

Keep up the good work!

PS Hope you got the tyre fixed/replaced - I`d better make sure mine are OK.

AudiDriver, thanks. We are led to believe that Carlack is indeed AIO, and perhaps we will get the difinitive answer when pugoman above tries it, as he is familiar with AIO also.

LoweJackson has some good links in his sticky post UK products, I got the link from there.

There is a supplier here in Australia that sells Carlack68 and they are supposedly the manufacturer of Klasse ( or vice versa ). I think that for all intents and purposes, we can say that they are virtually identically, much like the S100/P21S debate. Not exactly, but virtually.

Carlack 68 (http://autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28750&highlight=carlack)

I have 32 ounces of AIO and a half bootle(?), so I dont think I need any more in a hurry. :p

Pricing (Aust): A$32 (Carlack) v A$36 (AIO) - for A$4 I will stick with what I know. If the price difference had been more significant I would have given it a shot come replenishment time.

And AXE, very nice car champ, I love that close-up of the metallic - insane!

Thanks for the info.

One of the links that Lowejackson had supplied is one of the two I found on a UK search on Google. However, the other one I found seems to be cheaper (but can`t tell if the price is vat inclusive or not? )

I`ll look with interest as to what Pugoman says about the product.

I`ve yet to try a carnauba wax on my car and, thanks to all the helpful hints on this forum, I`m thinking of going for P21s.

that tire is not good at all, and you can not fix it on the sidewall, you can`t fix a tire unless it is atleast 1 inch towards the trea.

be careful,

but the car looks great and these huge pics fit perfect on my sis` 17in monitor :xyxthumbs
