Heck someone could mail it up to ya if you have friends in the states it wouldn`t cost that much to ship..

Yeah, the duty is pretty steep, depending on the shipping. But there are savings to be had. $109 at Coastal Tool and then probably $20 Cdn for the paper work, so the savings would mainly be $30 - $40.

As for the original question, I don`t know if the 7336 comes with a pad. The 7424 certainly does.

You won`t have to pay duty as the PC is made in the US (free trade) but you will have to pay taxes (15%) plus depending on how it`s sent, you may have to pay brokerage fees. Whatever you do, don`t get it shipped by UPS, they charge more for brokerage fees then anyone, get it sent by the USPS. I would say it`s going to cost you around $25 usd for shipping (just guessing).

Yeah, no duty because the PC is made in the USA and whatever you do don`t have it shipped UPS. USPS is the way to go.

If your lucky and find a friendly Canuck they might send one or bring one up. Works out well in the end.

I bought my 7424, backing plate and counter-weight from coastaltool.com for US$109 in October. It took about 9 days to get here. Tell them you want USPS, not UPS shipping.

US$109 = $135 for the PC

US$22 = $28 USPS shipping

$5 duty

$24.45 tax

Total = Cdn$192.45 including all taxes etc.

Depending on your PST - here in Ontario it`s 8% - that works out to a pre-tax price of Cdn$167.34. Good luck finding it at that price in canada with the backing plate and counter-weight.

Porter Cable sell re-conditioned units in Canada for about the same price. However, their customer service sucked when I called so I went with Coastal Tool instead.

I`d suggest going coastal and spend the 50 odd dollars on product. I bought mine through CDN tire when it was on sale but that was before I knew that coastal sells it so cheap.

Vick-e, I bought a 7336 from Lowe`s. It came with one white pad and some wood sanding stuff. Good luck, I hope you can find a good deal. Wes
