What Spray Nozzle?

What does everyone use for a spray nozzle? I was blasting out my wheelwells and bumped my paint with the metal one i have, and yup, it chiped the paint a little.

When I don`t have my foam gun attached I use an Ultimate Nozzle from Home Depot, $20 sure beats $77+ from Griots :eek:



Oh yeah, be sure to get plenty of plastic cut off switches and brass quick disconnects. Thanks to Accumulator for that tip. They are indispensable :up

id like to know as well. But mainly i just use the plastic ones.

As Bill D said, I have all my hoses fitted with plastic shut-offs and then brass quick-disconnects. I use a variety of nozzles depending on what I`m doing.



For safe wheelwell cleaning, the "nozzle" I use isn`t even something designed to be a nozzle! It`s a plastic quick-disconnect fitting, the female end. These are shaped sorta like a mushroom- the thing you pull down to open the fitting is at the end of it. It`s not the end of the world if you bump your paint with it and its compact size fits into a lot of places. Gives a good flow of water too (adjust with the shut-off mounted on the hose).



I hold the hose at the shut-off, this places it and the brass quick-disconnect right around where my fingers are so I have decent control over it. I haven`t had any problems with hitting the paint (at least not hard enough to matter) with the brass quick-disconnect.

Sorry, no pics of the plastic ones. But if you go into the garden/hose center of a big-box place (or Sears) you`ll find them. They`re usually gray in color with a green or yellow ring. Might be hard to find out of season, but trust me, you`ll spot them if they have them in stock.

I even have the cheapie $1 yellow Wal-Mart variety of hit or miss quality in the mix. They can work in a pinch or even beyond if you`re lucky

The order of the connectors would be: Plastic shutoff valve then the quicky at the end right?



I was careless with the nozzle, i didnt think anything of it until i heard the fateful metal on metal sound...



Thats what a $1 nozzle will get ya!

That is correct, it`s how I switch back and forth between the nozzle and foam gun.

The items in the photo can be found at any decently stocked Sears: I suppose that may be variable this time of year.
