****Update**** Sun pictures on page 3!

Well my Uncle has been hounding me for awhile now to do his Wife`s Caddilac Deville. Today I finally found sometime to go ahead and you it for him. The car is in pretty good shape, she is a garage kept baby so the elements are minimal, not to mention it`s not driven very much.

Well the sky was overcast for most of the day again. But the sun did peak out and I caught a glimpse of the swirls on this thing, they were not the worst I`ve seen, but there were a quite a few there. It appears to have some rotary swirls, but I really don`t know for sure. They didn`t appear to be washing swirls, so I don`t know. The #80 took good care of the swirls, I had to go over the horizontal services twice with the #80. #80 left a very nice finish on this color, I was very please. I wanted to go over the car VM before appyling the EX, but the weather didn`t want to cooperate!

Process:

--Wash w/Poorboy`s Spray & Wipe

--Clay (Mother`s) w/Meguiar`s Last Touch for lube

--#80 Via PC and Meguiar`s polishing pad on 6

--Poorboy`s EX by hand w/Pakshak yellow foam applicator

--Spray & Wipe on wheels

--Poorboy`s APC (8:1) on tires, wells, lower panels

--VM on windows, lights, chrome

--BnB on tires and trim

The interior was a pretty big mess. My Uncle didn`t want to me to clean the carpets, even though they did need it. He just wanted a bosic wipe down and dress, and vacuum the carpets. His wife is a smoker, so there was a lot of ashes around and on the dash!

--Wipe down w/Poorboy`s APC (8:1)

--Dressed with 303

--Leather conitioned w/4*

#80/EX is one of my favorite 2 step combos (#80/#16 is the other!).

Scott: After Using this combo on my last 2 details, I really like it a lot as well. It is a such a breeze to use and creates great results. The only thing that makes me nervous is all of the talk about bonding issues w/#80 as a base.

DSVWGLI: You really need to try #80. It`s a very user friendly product with great results. It takes good care of light swirls w/polishing pads. It makes a really nice on step product.

Mike: Thanks:D And nice Audi by the way. I love when you do a black vehicle. I love the black Cobras you done in the past. And of course your work truck!

How long did it take you to polish that car with the #80/polishing pad?

Paul: I took about an hour and fifteen minutes to polish with a polishing pad. I went over the car twice with the #80 to remove more of the swirls. This is the first time I have used just #80 w/polishing pad to remove swirls. I have a hard time doing it the Autopian way, least abrasive method first. I usually bust out the cutting pad and #83, but I did it the "right" way this time and very impressed! I`m getting better and better with every detail I do, that`s all I can ask for!:D Nice Maxima by the way, I love that body style!

I knew you were going to say that. I swear to god when I was working on the car and I decided not to use the Pink Wax, I said watch, tdekany is going to say what happened to the Pink Wax. I wanted to use it bad, but if I am going to be doing more paying details, I need to find a good 2 step process to do the job. But I have not used it in a week or so, starting to have withdrawals. I did the #2180/Pink Wax combo on my GF`s truck. what a combo!

Thanks for the nice words Thomas!:xyxthumbs

Very nice work!!! I just have a couple of noob??? though.

1). Why didn`t you clay before the polishing?

2). How long did it take to do the total detail? I`m curious how long it takes to do large cars vs. smaller cars?

3). Did you uncle pay you or is he just going to do some "word of mouth" advertising for you???

1) Oooops, I didn`t put that in my process did I! Thanks, I will have to change that reall quick! Thanks

2) The total detail took me about 3 hours. And that was going over the car twice w/#80. Once you do it more and more rex, you kind of get a routing down to help in the time process!

3) Yes my uncle did pay me, and he will also give me word of mouth. But the big bonus w/ my uncle is that he has a group of business men that get together on every tuesday and have breakfast. He offered to take me and introduce me to all of them and see if I can get a business started. It`s a group of about 75 men and women who do business locally, together they did over a million dollars on just their word of mouth business, not to mention the business they brought in on advertising. So once I get some cards made up I am going to that with him and see how much I can do. They currently have no detailers in their group, so it would be an amazing business opportunity.:D
