Hello Autopians! I have just joined and have a general question as to what products to use.

I have a 2001 White Honda CRV which I just purchased used. It appears to have nearly a flawless paint job, but it is probably safe to assume it has not had the care that would typically be expected on this forum. Anyway, after reading several posts on this forum, I am leaning towards using the Klasse twins yet this will be my first foray into really maintaining a car`s finish (this will also include my wife`s white 02 Camry - we like white!).

My available time for detailing will probably be limited so my intention is to obtain a durable finish, relatively easy to apply (but I don`t mind a little work) and preferably a little more shine than what I have now.

Both cars are garaged at night. My experience is limited to the usual (layman`s) twice a year polish/wax and fairly regular washes.

Are the Klasse products the best for my white cars and my experience?

Welcome!

I reccomend downloading David`s E-book, availiable here on the site I belive. It will give you everything you need to know for techniques.

As for products, I only have experience with AIO. There are lots of members though that can help you with SG.

Out of curiosity, what do you have for products (twice a year polish/wax and regular wash). You can hopefully use them to your advantage.

The Klasse Twins are what got me started in detailing, that and some Meguiar`s Quick Clay. That wasn`t too long ago, and now I have a lot more than I started, and I have found more and more time to detail now. I liked them, and found them a bit hard tow ork with at first, but looking back, I applied too much, and waited too long to buff off, now I think the WOWO method works great. Next time I try though, it will be using Gonzo`s method ( http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49819 ).

I`m guessing your applying by hand also?

I like white cars too. :up

My recommendation is to use my current combo, which is Klasse AIO + FourStar UPP + Pinnacle Paste Glaz.

I have not tried SG on my car, so I can`t comment on how that looks on white.

I can also tell you that GEPC + EX-P + Paste Glaz looks nice on white.

AIO + UPPx3 + Paste Glaz... (AIO by PC, EX-P/PG by hand)

It`s up to you, but remember process is as important (or more) than the products.

Thanks! The pictures are encouraging. I also plan applying the product by hand. At some point I will be trying the "clay" when time permits. Pollution here is an increasing problem.

What is the difference/advantages between the Sonus Spritz vs the Sonus Acrylic Glanz?

Great pics. Get some clay though and head to autopia-carcare.com and click on "how to-s" then you can refer to what your trying to do. There very detailed and helpfull.

Get Microfiber! Towels and applicators. I know the cost more but you`ll get the best performance and are reusable. I highly suggest the Concours Buffing Towel for removing Sealent Glaze. It makes your job so much easier even if you put to much on. Remember with your car being white you probably not going to see the AIO or SG applying but you will notice when it`s drying. Only put a dime size of AIO on and a nickel of SG. That will do say a hood, front fenders. The Sonus MF applicators are great because the apply alot better then terry. Helps not applying much. OH, get some Sonus Acrylic spritz. spray it on the applicator helps reduce dusta and applys more smoothly. Good Luck. You won`t be disappointed with the Klasse Twins. Get some P21S for wax.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have some of the Klasse products on the way.

I do still need to know the difference between the Sonus Acrylic Spritz and the Acrylic Glanz. Do I really need both.

It appears that the Glanz would be better to have in order to extend the life of the finish and possibly use Meg. QD inplace of the more expensive Spritz. Yes, I need to cut a few corners. Thanks!
