Well it finally has come and gone. As some of you know, I detailed a friend of my GF`s Accord after she was served with divorce papers around X-mas. Well her sister saw her car a little while after I did it and was pretty happy with the results. So I was contacted to do the work, and today was the day.:D

I wasn`t really sure what I was getting into with this one. All that I knew was that they were up in Tahoe acouple of weeks ago, and they had not washed it since, or for how long before the trip. So I went and picked up the car this morning. As I pull up I notice quite a bit of brake dust on the rear wheel, but then I took a look at the front wheel and almost past out! The amount of brake dust was very impressive, I would have had to guess the wheel was silver, but no way to know for sure. Paint had a lot of water spots, your typical spider swirls.

To top everything off, about an hour after I dropped the car back off at her house, I got a call from her sister (Accord) to let me know that her best friend, and brother in law want me to do their cars as well, toal of 4 cars. So needless to say I am pretty excited about the weeks and months ahead.:xyxthumbs

I decided on the #83/#80 combo and was very impressed. The #80 leaves a very deep wet reflection without a paint sealant. Afer I was done with the polishing, I pulled the car out of the garage to look at it. I was very impressed, then I thought wait, I have not even sealed the paint yet. Very impressive combo, no wonder so many pros like #80, especially on black paint!! I did get some hazing from the #83, #80 took good care of that!

My Process:

--Wash w/Poorboy`s Super Slick & Suds

--Clay (Mother`s) w/Meguiar`s Last Touch for lube

--Meguiar`s #83 DACP Via PC and LC 7.5" yellow concaved cutting pad

--Meguiar`s #80 Via PC and LC 7.5" white concaved polishing pad

--Poorboy`s EX w/Carnauba by hand w/Pakshak yellow foam applicator

--Finish Kare FK1 Pink Wax by hand w/Pakshak yellow foam applicator

--Poorboy`s APC (8:1) wheels, lower panels, wells

--Poorboy`s bug squash remover (3:1) front bumper, grille, hood (Prototype)

--Interior cleaned w/Poorboy`s APC (8:1)

--VM on windows, plastic lighting, and emblems

--BnB on tires, wells, trim

--303 on interior

It looks very nice. Out of curiousty because I do not know a whole lot about the FK Pink, was there any particular reason you used EX and the FK??

Also, PM incoming.

I just have always liked a paint sealant topped with a good carnauba wax. It`s funny, while I was doing the detail, I wa thinking to myself how I feel that my details are incomplete without a sealant with a topper. So it`s funny you ask. I just feel something is missing without a sealant and a topper. I guess you can call it personal preference!

I will be awaiting your PM!:D

Excellent work! I agree about #80, it really has a nice deep glow even before you use an LSP.

It is a real rush to get that first payment for your work. :)

Couldn`t have said it better myself. It makes black paint, like a pitch black. It really is amazing. I wanted to use FP II, but I wanted a little bit more bite.

looks great, did you notice any difference in reflectivity or depth when you topped the EX?

With the Fk1 Pink Wax, you notice a ton. If you look at my mom`s mustang post I made a week or so ago, all of the reflectivity and depth I would have to give credit to the Pink Wax. Same with the escape, the EX kicked up the shine, and the Pink Wax came in and added some deplth and reflection. The stuff is almost unreal. I`ve given some samples of the Pink Wax out to some well known pros on here. So hopefully they will say what they think of the stuff, and then everyone will know if I am crazy, or found a gold mine!

Very Nice! I`m also a fan of #80. Its usually my go to polish for your average polish needs.

Terrific job! I received a bottle of EX for Christmas. I already have #83, #80 and a black car. I think I will try the same combo except top with Souveran paste wax which I just love. Thanks again for the great post.
