What are your favorite brushes for cleaning wheels, tires, and wheel wells? Do you think what you get at the local stores are fine or do you splurge for the more expensive New England and/or Oxo brushes?

I`m looking for a brush small enough that will allow me to get into wheel wells of lowered cars. Jacking up the car everytime I want to clean them is just not going to happen.

Wheel wells are pain in general, and even more of a pain on lowered cars. I usually just spray the wells with some kind of APC and let it soak for a while, then rinse them off and dress with ArmorAll.

If I`m doing a well on a truck or SUV, I use a cheap wheel well brush from anywhere with a bucket of soapy water.

As far as my wheel and body brushes, I have been using OXO brushes and love them. I even used my OXO body brush on a convertible top and it did great. Here`s a link to what I`m talking about. I just couldn`t live without this brush. http://www.autopia-carcare.com/oxo-17007.html

My OXO wheel brush is slowly wearing out, and I just ordered this one as a replacement to try out. I find that the OXO wheel brush just doesn`t have enough bristles to be perfect. I`m hoping this brush has the same texture as the OXO just with more bristles. http://www.autogeek.net/tiwhbr.html

Griot`s BHBs all the way. The problem with flagged plastic bristles is that once the flagging wears away they`ll mar the wheels/whatever.

The smaller, "paintbrush" style (pn 15520 for a set of 3) work great in wheel wells and other tight spots.

I do the large areas in there with "Quickee Sponge Mops"- foam sponges mounted on plastic sticks that are made to clean glassware. I get mine at grocery stores and Discount Drug Mart.
