I`m looking to purchase my first drying towel. I`ve been using regular MF`s to dry (along with a leaf blower) but now I`d like to move up to a towel specifically designed for drying. I`ve been doing a little reseach here and narrowed it down to four choices - that was hard enough!!! So, with that said, if you guys had to choose between these four, which one would it be - and why:
- Sonüs Ultimate Drying Towel
- Pakshak WW Drying Towel
- Viking Microfiber Drying Towel
- Excel Pacific Blue Waffle Weave drying towel
Thanks in advance for the help!!!

I`ve had excellent results with the Sonus. Only other ones I`ve used are the Purple Passion ww and the Absorber. Sonus ww is a thinner material than Purple ww but it seems to be more absorbent. I haven`t wrung mine while drying so I can`t say how it works after wringing. I get the impression that it is more wax-friendly than Purple ww. Sonus is the first ww that I like for drying. I still have a place for Absorber in my detailing regimen.

Any one of the waffle weaves you listed will work fine. The Viking drying towel is not a waffle weave and isn`t nearly as good for drying as a WW. It is a plush terry type MF and great for QD or buffing.

I have the Sonus and the Excel, and I perfer the Excel towel. I don`t know if it`s just because it`s the newer of the two I have, but it seems to trap water better to me. I also had problems with the Sonus catching on my emblems, and that doesn`t seem to be as much of a problem with the Excel towel.

My vote is for the Pakshak WW. I recently did a QEW wash with one and the thing picked up water better the more I used it. It seemed like it picked up water a little bit better with water in the towel. I was very impressed with the Pakshak WW, and with the Autopia Discount through Pakshak, I don`t think you can beat it. I will be ordering more Pakshak WW towels!:D

I highly recommend looking into Winner`s Circle towels. They are literally a fraction of the cost and up to par with any towel I have ever used. You can get 4 rags for the cost of a single similar rag.

Hi fireberd350,
I can`t believe you put micro fiber towels in the same category as rags. :) I cringe whenever people use the term to describe me precious. :D

Me too... I think we should start a petition that will ask David to ban the three letter word "rag" from these forums! :grrr

I`ve got a Blue WW from SMP, and 2 sets of the Purple Passion WW`s. I like the PP towels a little better, and for the deal that they were running at the time make them sweet....
The big towel coupled with the little one is perfect for drying a car. I was going to try the Sonus Ultimate Drying Towel next. But I just got my first PakShak towels in last week, and if the WW is anything like the Ultra Fine and Ultra Plush, I may have to try it next... Definately my favorite towels yet, along with my Sonus Ultimate Detailing Towel....

i only have the pakshak WW MF towel and the viking one (it`s a plush blue one, right?). i prefer the pakshak one because it`s big and i was able to get by using just one of those to dry my mach1 after using an open nozzle to rinse it off.
but i don`t think you can go wrong with either the sonus, pakshak, or excel ones. the viking one (if it is the one i`m thinking of) is okay too, but on the small side.

I have 2 Excel Detail WWs. I love them. Patrick`s service is great and so are his products.
