View Full Version : My new backing plate isn`t very flexible

I ordered some LC pads from PakShak along with a LC yellow urethane backing plate.

I got one (1) yellow cutting pad and three (3) white polishing pads - they are the LC VC rounded edge pads, impeccable service from Raney @ PakShak and I really like the LC pads.

The backing plate I got is the LC 43-148DA yellow molded urethane plate. I though it was going to be flexible? Did I get the wrong one or is this the extent of the "flexible backing plates"?

Tanguy,

That is about he extent of the flexibility of the plates. The center is firmer to allow pressure to be put on the center without breaking or splitting of the plate during use.

Thanks Eric... No complaints here, just different than what I had envisioned. Thanks for the quick answer!

I have to say the "flexible" description manufacturers use must be slightly deceiving then - I was led to believe that flexible plates allow you to move over contours easily - if they`re not all that flexible, how will this help you over the contours?
